Hanukkah Day 3: Dreidel
A dreidel (sevivon in Hebrew) is a spinning top, with four sides, each side featuring a different Hebrew letter: nun (נ), gimmel (ג), hay (ה) and either shin (שׁ) or peh (פּ). While there are many stories surrounding the origins of the dreidel and the game traditionally associated with Hanukkah, most believe it's an adaptation of a centuries-old game played in many cultures.
